cooking is my love language. being in the garden, growing food to feed my family, strolling a farmers market for fresh ingredients, or literally being in the kitchen whipping up my latest ideas are all my happiest of places.
in our house, we eat primarily gluten and dairy free, organic and limited meat. while some people are immediately turned off, thinking that there can’t possibly be anything left that’s delicious when you remove cheese and milk, you haven’t had a meal at the farm yet.
one of my favorite quotes is “let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food”, which is such a statement of truth. what you eat determines how you feel, how you think and how you do. which is why we are intentional about all that we put into our bodies.
making a meal to feed yourself or your family is one thing, but how it’s plated and how it looks is a step above. I choose to use the fancy dishes, the fancy silverware, and the nice cups everyday. why save that which makes you smile for a special day? everyday is worth it!
